Born and raised in Hong Kong, Hannah Bent completed her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Film from Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London. She undertook further study in both directing and screenwriting at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, and holds a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Her debut novel, When Things Are Alive They Hum, was inspired by her sister Camilla, who lives with Down syndrome. As a work in progress, it won the 2013 Ray Koppe Young Writers award. It was shortlisted for the Indie Book Awards 2022, the MUD Literary Prize 2022, and the ABIA Book Awards 2022 in the categories of General Fiction Book of the Year and The Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year.

She has a passion for teaching and has facilitated creative writing workshops for children in Australia and Hong Kong for over 8 years.

Tanya Uppal is a certified Design Thinking expert, workshop specialist, and seasoned management consultant with over 15 years of international business experience, including a decade based in Hong Kong. Throughout her career, she has led complex transformation projects and facilitated high-impact strategic workshops for global institutions, the Hong Kong Government, and leading organizations across Asia—including MTR, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), Hong Kong International School (HKIS), and major global banks—bridging human-centric design with commercial strategy.

Her leadership and impact in the region were recognized by Women Entrepreneur Magazine, which featured her among the Top 10 Indian Business Leaders in Hong Kong. Combining her background in global advisory with a passion for structured creativity, Tanya specializes in designing interactive learning environments that help individuals and teams unlock new ways of thinking. Drawing on her extensive experience across diverse Asian markets, she empowers learners to translate bold ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
